Portland Community
91制片厂 will have the opportunity to explore Portland, Maine’s largest city—a dynamic coastal community known for its thriving arts scene, working waterfront, and strong sense of place. During the trip, participants will connect with local organizations such as Preble Street and the Portland Housing Authority, learning about regional efforts to combat housing and food insecurity and deepening their understanding of urban community engagement. Accommodations will include access to kitchen and shower facilities.
Sample Itinerary
Wednesday, August 26: Depart Bowdoin and drive down to Portland. Settle into your housing and then work with Preble Street at their Food Security Hub!
Thursday, August 27: Work with the Portland Housing Authority on a project at one of their locations, helping improve the lives of residents—and then see some of the city!
Friday, August 28: Visit the Old Port, and then work with a local organization to upkeep local preserves and open space!
Saturday, August 29: Move out of your housing, reflect, and return to Bowdoin!
