ON-CAMPUS PARKING REGISTRATION

91ÖÆƬ³§ (living on or off-campus) that park on campus must display a current student parking decal to utilize campus parking areas. StudentS need to register  and your parking decal will be sent to your Smith Union mailbox. 

PARKING RULES

Campus parking rules are always in force (even during academic break periods) unless the Associate Vice President of Safety and Security provides notice via official email.

• Adhere your parking decal to your vehicle's upper right corner of the rear window or right rear bumper as soon as possible.
• Admissions Lot on Saturday is restricted in the parking area adjacent to Burton-Little House on SATURDAY from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (to accommodate campus tours). 
• Designated Student Parking Lots: Student vehicles displaying a current Bowdoin parking decal may park in any student parking lots Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 91ÖÆƬ³§ may park in faculty/staff/visitor lots on nights and weekends. Student lots are listed below. 91ÖÆƬ³§ without parking decal are not allowed to park on-campus.

• Disabled Parking Spaces: You must have a disabled parking license plate or hang tag to park in these space; included the hashmarked area.
• Fire circle, lanes, or signed areas: parking is prohibited at all times - no exceptions.
• First-year students do not have on-campus parking privileges and may not bring a motor vehicle to campus. Rare exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Office of the Dean of 91ÖÆƬ³§.
• Lending out your car: You are responsible for any citations that the person using your vehicle may receive, make sure they are aware of parking rules and lots they can park in.
• One vehicle per student: A student may possess or register one vehicle only.
• Parking spaces: Vehicles must park in spaces designated by signage and indicated by white
  painted lines on both sides of the space.
•  Scofflaws 3-4 ticket $50, 5+ $100, 7+ requires a meeting with security administration to avoid loss of on campus parking.

PARKING INFORMATION

• Billing for permits and fines will be charged to your student account through the Bursar once a month.
• Decals expiration date: full year permit is good through the last week of August.
• EV Charging: students may use EV charging spaces in the Coffin lot to charge their vehicle but must move the vehicle once charge is complete. Vehicles left in EV spaces after charge is complete may be ticketed.
• Leaving a car on campus for extended periods: the vehicle must have a current parking decal and must be parked in the Farley lot.
• Medical injury/surgery or accessibility special parking accommodations, contact Lesley Levy, Director of Student Accessibility, 207-798-4187.
• Parking Appeals : Parking violations may be appealed within five days of the date of violation on the . 1st appeal will be a warning, 2nd appeal a reduction of fine, 3rd appeal requires a meeting with administrator. Appeals are usually processed within five business days. • Parking Bans: The Office of Safety and Security will notify students and employees by email of campus and Town of Brunswick parking bans. A vehicle parked in violation of a ban may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
• Parking Fines: Parking violators are notified by email upon receipt of a ticket. Fines will be billed to your student account. Review parking fines here.
• Permit Fee: The motor vehicle parking permit fee for students is $100 per academic year. A discount fee of $50 for a semester-only students who are excpeted to a study abroad program or for seniors who matriculate in December will be offered, email Bowdoin Security Parking Enforcementt before you request a semester permit.
• Revocation of on-campus parking privileges: The accrual of seven or more parking violations during an academic year, or a violation of the first-year student parking prohibition, may result in a report to the dean of students and loss of on-campus parking privileges for time determined by the deans.
• Short-Term Parking (does not include first-years): If you only have a car on campus for a short term (2-3 weeks), email Bowdoin Security Parking Enforcement to inquire about a temporary tag.
• The Bowdoin Shuttle and Safe Ride: If you need a ride from an outlying parking lot to a residence hall, contact The Bowdoin Shuttle at 207-725-3337, or after shuttle operating hours contact safety and security for a Safe Ride.
• Town of Brunswick Parking Tickets: 91ÖÆƬ³§ are responsible for paying parking tickets issued by the Town of Brunswick. For more information: . 
• Vehicle breakdown: If your vehicle breaks down or has a dead battery, contact the safety and security office for assistance at 207-725-3314.
• Visitor Permit: If you have a visitor for more than one day (Monday-Friday) request a visitor permit through the

Bowdoin College assumes no responsibility for damage to motor vehicles parked on campus property, or personal property losses due to theft. 91ÖÆƬ³§, staff, and visitors are encouraged to carry sufficient personal insurance to cover such losses. Best practice is to lock unoccupied vehicles, park in well-lit areas, and not keep valuables visible in unoccupied vehicles.
