2026–2027 Academic Year Course Auditing
Auditing is available to community members for the 2026–2027 academic year. Please read the following information carefully to ensure a smooth experience.

Course Auditing Process for Community Members
- Auditing Form Opens: Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 at 9:00 am
- Course Selection: Course Listings will be available by the end of the day on Monday, August 10, 2026.
- Submit Form: The completed online auditing form will be sent automatically to the Office of the Registrar.
- Confirmation: Auditors will receive an email with the details regarding your course auditing for Fall 2026 no later than the end of the business day on Friday, August 21, 2026.
- Auditing Form Closes: Friday, August 18th, 2026 at 5:00 pm
- The entire process is conducted online; no in-person support is available.
- Auditors may not contact faculty directly about auditing courses.
- Course slots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Auditors are limited to one course per semester.
- Course auditing is $70 for Friends of Bowdoin and $100 for other community members. Course auditing for current Bowdoin Employees, current Bowdoin employee spouses, Bowdoin alums, high school students, and Bowdoin students is FREE.
Mandatory Technology Set-Up Appointment
All approved auditors must schedule a thirty-minute technology set-up appointment for one of the following dates:

During the appointment, auditors will:
- Get set up in Bowdoin’s software systems (e.g., Okta Verify, Canvas, course materials access)
- Activate their Bowdoin email account
- Receive instructions for getting their Bowdoin OneCard
Important: Please bring the device you intend to use for accessing course materials.Please note: if you do not attend this appointment, you will not be able to audit a class. These appointments may only be rescheduled if there are still timeslots available and there will be no additional appointments offered.
Course Auditing Process for Bowdoin 91ÖÆƬ³§ and High School 91ÖÆƬ³§
Current Bowdoin students and high school students must sign up directly through the Registrar’s Office.
- Course Audit Request Forms Available: Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 at 9:00 am
- Course Selection: Choose the course you would like to audit.
- High school and Bowdoin students may choose from the full course offerings, as long as they have instructor permission to join the course.
- Submit Form: Submit your completed Course Audit Request Form to registrar@bowdoin.edu by Tuesday, September 1st, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
