What a Relief: A colorful exploration into three-dimensional forms with Alice Webber
In this camp, we will turn our artists' eye to nature for inspiration while stepping out of our comfort zones to play with color and scale. We will explore different mediums, focusing on watercolors and acrylics to bring a relief sculpture to life. Oscillating between small- and large-scale pieces, a full color spectrum and monochromatic themes, our artists will lean into the way scale changes our experience of a work of art. Artists will blend new and recycled materials to build cohesive pieces that we will showcase at our art show on Friday. This camp is getting curiouser and curiouser.

Wild Forms: Painting & Sculpture from Nature with Rachel Alexandrou
In this immersive art camp, students will explore the natural world through both painting and sculpture.
Working with colored pencil and watercolor, they will begin the week with observational sketches and paintings. The second half of the week we will move to three-dimensional materials to translate what they see and feel in nature into expressive artworks.
Nature journaling will be an integral part of the class. Each student will receive a journal to record simple observations, sketches, and creative ideas throughout the week.
91制片厂 will look closely at plants, insects, textures, and landscapes as inspiration for their work, creating paintings and small sculptural forms using a combination of natural materials and traditional art supplies.
We will look at works by artists Ohn Mar Win for whimsy, Etel Adnan for abstraction, Bill Traylor for his symbolism, and Maud Lewis for patterns.
Emphasis will be placed on observation, experimentation, and creative problem-solving, encouraging students to move fluidly between two-dimensional and three-dimensional processes. Projects may include painting from direct observation, creating textured and abstract landscapes, and constructing small sculptural forms inspired by natural structures and patterns of growth.
This camp fosters curiosity, confidence, and a deeper connection to the natural world, while introducing students to a range of artistic processes in a supportive and exploratory environment.

Woven Worlds: Material Cycles and Explorations in Color with Monique Boutin
What are the sources, stories, and life cycles of the materials we use? Where does color come from? How can materials and color create meaning? In this workshop, we’ll source and explore materials and color from the natural world around us as artist-naturalists to create with fiber arts, found materials, and natural dyes and inks. We will experiment with different techniques including weaving with fibers and found objects, felting with wool, and natural dyeing with plants such as marigold and onion skins, and lichens. Investigations of color will continue through natural inks and monotype prints on paper and fabric, where we’ll also play with composition, shape and space along with cyanotypes with found materials. Join us as we create a variety of individual and collaborative weavings, felted creations, dyed fibers, and prints, both indoors and out. We’ll take inspiration from the natural world, other artwork, and our own lives to create an exhibition of artwork and large-scale collaborative weaving for families to experience at the end of the week.
